DTF Printer vs Ninja Transfers: An Honest Comparison
The short version
Ninja Transfers is the biggest name in custom DTF transfers, and there are things it genuinely does well: a huge review base, fast turnaround, and printing from two US facilities. We are not going to pretend otherwise.
The honest difference between us is how you pay. Ninja sells fixed sheet sizes, so you buy the next size up from what your designs need and the empty film is yours. We charge for the sheet length your designs actually use after our system packs them. Which model is cheaper depends on your order, and this page shows the real numbers for both, with sources, so you can check every figure yourself.
The pricing models, side by side
Ninja's standard gang sheet ladder, from their gang sheet builder (checked July 2026):
| Ninja sheet | Price |
|---|---|
| 1ft (22" x 12") | $16.99 |
| 2ft (22" x 24") | $19.99 |
| 5ft (22" x 60") | $49.99 |
| 7ft | $69.99 |
| 10ft | $89.99 |
| 20ft | $129.99 |
Notice the jump: there is nothing between 2ft ($19.99) and 5ft ($49.99). If your designs need 25 to 59 inches, you pay for 60.
Our pricing has no sizes to choose. Upload your designs, the system packs them like Tetris pieces, and you pay $0.90 per inch of the 22-inch-wide sheet length they use (UV DTF $1.13 per inch), with no minimum order (one small design starts at about $4). Real examples, priced by our live system in July 2026:
| Your design | Our price | At Ninja |
|---|---|---|
| One 4" tall design | $4.09 | $16.99 (1ft sheet, their smallest) |
| One 24" tall design | $22.10 | $49.99 (5ft sheet) or $36.98 (1ft + 2ft) |
| One 32" tall design | $29.30 | $49.99 (5ft sheet) |
| One 44" tall design | $40.10 | $49.99 (5ft sheet) |
Your exact price depends on how your designs pack, so use the price calculator for a live quote. Never pay for dead inches.
We ran the numbers on real orders
Because our system records the exact sheet length every order uses, we can test this properly. In July 2026 we priced every custom DTF order from our last 90 days, at its exact ordered length, against Ninja's published gang sheet prices, and we gave Ninja the benefit of the doubt by always using their cheapest possible sheet combination.
78% of real orders would have cost more at Ninja. The other 22% were mostly filled standard sheets and large rolls, where fixed sizes can cost less. If your order happens to price higher here, contact us before you buy and we will see if we can price match it for you.
That is the whole pricing story in two sentences: most orders are small or odd-sized, and paying per inch beats paying for a fixed sheet exactly there.
Price depends on your order. These do not.
Whatever your order size, every single order here gets:
- A human file check before printing. A real person reviews your artwork, and if something about it worries us (resolution, transparency, sizing), we contact you before it prints instead of shipping a problem.
- Automatic upscaling of low-resolution artwork, so a small file still prints sharp instead of pixelated.
- Free reprints if we get it wrong. A misprint or defect is reprinted and sent out at no charge. That is the standing policy, not a favor.
- No dead inches. The auto-packed, pay-per-inch pricing above applies to every order, every time.
Shipping compared
| DTF Printer | Ninja Transfers | |
|---|---|---|
| Standard US shipping | $9.95 | $6.99 (UPS Ground, 5-7 days) |
| Free shipping from | $75 | $75 (transfer orders) |
| Dispatch | 1-2 business days | 24-48 hours |
| Delivery transparency | Measured times by state, from about 2,300 tracked orders | No published delivery data |
Fair is fair: Ninja's sub-$75 shipping is $2.96 cheaper than ours. Source: Ninja's shipping policy (checked July 2026). We publish what delivery actually takes rather than what we hope it takes: our numbers come from about 2,300 measured orders.
The rare cases where Ninja costs less
On rare occasions an order genuinely prices lower at Ninja. Credit where due, they also run two print facilities (Philadelphia and San Diego) and their sub-$75 shipping is $2.96 cheaper than ours.
If your order is one of those rare cases - contact us before you buy and we will see if we can price match it for you.
Where DTF Printer wins
- You never pay for empty film. Our system auto-packs your designs and charges only the inches they use. No sheet sizes, no rounding up, no 25-inch job priced as a 60-inch sheet.
- Testing us costs $4.09, not $16.99. The best way to judge any transfer supplier is a small real order, and with no minimum order here, a single small design starts at about $4 instead of a $16.99 smallest sheet.
- Honest delivery data. We publish measured delivery times by state. Nobody else in this comparison does.
- The Design Bundles library. We are the print service from the team behind Design Bundles, so ready-made designs and bundle packs live in the same place you print.
